A 2013-vintage Port Charlotte Islay Barley from Bruichladdich, made with barley grown by seven Islay farmers in 2012. Matured in a combination of ex-American whiskey casks and ex-wine casks from France’s Pessac-Léognan region, it offers aromas of orange zest, earthy peat, banoffee pie, digestive biscuits, cherry, apricot and melon that fill the nose. The palate is full of almond, coconut, caramel, peat and vanilla notes, complemented by a medley of summer fruits, heathery smoke and oaky spice.
