Nose

Taste
Pretty full-bodied and a little pungent, but still smooth. Sweet, caramel, vanilla. Fruity, oranges. Also some licorice and a hint of smoke.
Finish
A slight pepper now, licorice, smoke, sweet, vanilla. Pretty long. At the end, cigar tobacco rests in the mouth for a long time.

The Caol Ila Distillers Edition bottlings are a reliable source of Islay awesomeness. They boast plenty of warming peat notes mixed in with lip-smacking sweetness coming from the Moscatel cask finishing period – all-in-all, much deliciousness to be had. This is the 2006 vintage Distillers Edition, which was bottled in 2017.
