Whether you believe in them or not, Zodiac signs have been around for a very long time and can be used as a way to describe and find out more about one’s self through horoscopes – which can apparently predict your future while giving some life advice.
As for the extent of how true said predictions are, that’s entirely up for you to decide. Either way, we’re gonna try a little fun experiment of matching your Zodiac sign with a bottle from our vast collection of spirits.
Keep in mind, this piece is not written by an astrologist and is all done in good fun. With that disclaimer out of the way, let’s find out what liquor you are.
Aries (March 21 – April 19)
From the various horoscope-related sites I’ve been through, people born under the Aries star apparently love being number one at whatever it is they do. Additionally, they’re very audacious and don’t crack under pressure when dealing with challenging situations.
Moreover, Aries-borns tend to be active, adventurous and hate routines or feeling restricted, which could be said about a lot of people really despite of their Zodiac… but let’s play along!
- Alcohol for the Aries: Monkey 47
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
Despite being represented by the bull which many perceive to be a hot-headed animal, Taureans reportedly enjoy relaxing in peaceful environments filled with mellow sonics, soothing aromas and succulent flavours – perhaps to counteract their hot-headedness.
Thankfully, I did not pursue a career in astrology since I was completely wrong about the hot-headed part. According to multiple sources, Taureans are some of the most stable, reliable and affectionate people but have a weakness for materialism.
- Alcohol for the Taurus: Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
Geminis are said to be friendly, adaptable and charming yet easily bored. They also have a tendency to juggle multiple duties at once. Moreover, the symbol for Gemini which is a pair of celestial twins is to represent a Gemini’s interest in various pursuits.
To complement their charming and talkative personality, Geminis enjoy exploring new ideas, making new friends and are huge proponents of personal freedom. On the flip side, perhaps the most negative aspect of a Gemini is that their highly strung people.
- Alcohol for the Gemini: Garden Shed Gin
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
Cancer-borns are highly intuitive and can effortlessly pick up the energies in a room. Their also very sensitive, emotional and caring people (for better or worse). On that note, cancers can be very possessive, demanding and melodramatic.
Regarding their more positive traits, cancers are very responsive people who are typically the funny ones in a group of friends yet like to keep things traditional and enjoy being surrounded by family and friends in addition to being at home.
- Alcohol for the Cancer: Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
Ah, Leos. Proud and ambitious yet affectionate and playful. Those born under this star sign are said to be risk takers but can also be highly egotistical, possessive and impulsive.
Adding to that, Leos love the spotlight and hate feeling unnoticed. In addition to their need for attention, A Leo wouldn’t take too kindly or pay heed to criticism whether it might actually benefit them due to their egotistical nature.
- Alcohol for the Leo: GlenDronach 12 Original
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Virgo is historically represented by the goddess of wheat and agriculture, which is supposed to represent a deep-rooted presence in the material world. Logical, practical, and systematic in their approach to life, Virgos are essentially perfectionists in a nutshell.
While those are positive traits which have been listed, a Virgo can be very self-conscious, reclusive and at times – very hard to please. Unlike the previously mentioned star signs Virgos enjoy routines and having order.
- Alcohol for the Virgo: John Walker & Sons XR 21
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Libras are fixated on balance and harmony. That being said, their also very sociable, open-minded and creative individuals who enjoy expressing said creativity and admiring the beauty of things in general.
The dark side to a Libra is that they can be very indecisive, self-centred and aloof all at once. They also don’t take kindly to criticism or being pushed into making decisions.
- Alcohol for the Libra: Suntory Roku Gin
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
Scorpios are one of the most misunderstood signs of the zodiac… allegedly. People born under this star sign are said to have an incredible thirst for passion and power. They give off intense vibes due to their quietness but are said to be incredible lovers in bed.
Like every other Zodiac sign, there’s pros and cons. Scorpios are no different as they can be easily envious of other people’s successes and are both controlling and aggressive due to their intense nature.
- Alcohol for the Scorpio: Bathtub Gin
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
With the archer as their symbol, Sagittarius folk are always keen to acquire knowledge. According to the Zodiac websites I’ve been scrolling back and forth through, A Sag (the short form for Sagittarius) is usually the philosophical and witty one of the bunch.
That being said, their also fun-loving, extroverted and optimistic. Even so, Sagittarius people tend to be too sarcastic at times as well as careless and unreliable altogether.
- Alcohol for the Sagittarius: Laphroaig 10 Year Old
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
Oh, capricorns. Apparently, capricorns are responsible, patient, self-disciplined and focused… which confuses me because I’m one of them (a Capricorn) but don’t really see those qualities in myself.
On the other hand, I do agree with the descriptions of a Capricorn’s weaknesses which include being cold, suspicious, demanding and at times, insensitive. However, we make up for it by being loyal, playful and patient lovers.
- Alcohol for the Capricorn: Monkey Shoulder
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
Unconventional, impulsive yet friendly, inventive and inquisitive. These are some of the words used to describe an Aquarius. There’s a lot of talk about Aquarius folk thinking about the future and enjoying intellectual stimulation.
An Aquarius loves diversity (in what sense I’m not sure) but can be narrow-minded at times too. In relationships, they can also be rather cold and selfish but very loyal and tolerant.
- Alcohol for the Aquarius: Chivas Regal Mizunara
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
The sign for Pisces which is two fish swimming in opposite directions, represents their constantly divided attention between fantasy and reality. That being said, their very imaginative, accepting and idealistic people.
Unfortunately, due to those attributes – a Pisces can feel insecure very easily and hate being alone and ignored. Relationship-wise their idealistic nature sometimes leads to unrealistic expectations but they can make for some of the most devoted and tolerant partners.
- Alcohol for the Pisces: Moët & Chandon Moet Imperial Brut
Again, I’d like to reiterate the fact that I’m merely a humble writer and have no experience in astrology whatsoever. If you agreed with your zodiac’s drink, you’re welcome but if not I would apologise… but why bother.
