If You Love Strong Whiskies, Get Your Hands On This (While Stocks Last)

There’s a handful of spirits we’ve carefully procured to provide you folks with the best drinking experience possible. The spirits I’m referring to aren’t easily found in Malaysia or any other part of the world for that matter.

The scarcity of these expressions is mainly due to extremely limited bottling, but we managed to get our hands on them. Through our secret network of distributors, we’ve amassed a glorious private collection consisting some of the world’s rarest alcohol.

Just as these expressions are bottled in limited quantities, so is our stock (first come, first serve baby). One of these bottles, which proved to be a sleeper hit was – The Glenfarclas 18 (now currently out of stock, sorry).

Realising this, we got our hands on something just as (if not, even more) special and that is what you saw at the very top of this post:

The Glenfarclas 105 – Cask Strength

Made by one of the last few family-owned Speyside distilleries, the Glenfarclas 105 is an excellent cask strength whisky, which means the liquor is taken directly from its cask without being diluted with water or other solvents for ‘easier’ consumption.

First released in 1968, this expression made Glenfarclas the first distillery to ever release a barrel proof single malt whisky. Overtime, it was re-named to 105 in reference to its alcohol content in British Proof which amounts to 60% ABV.

While an ABV of 60% might sound intimidating, you’d be surprised by the insane depth of flavour found in this expression when drank neat. Even so, there’s no shame at all in adding a dash of water to explore its depth or make it easier to drink.

As of now, The 105 doesn’t carry an age statement, making it one of the rarest Glenfarclas bottlings. There have been whispers that suggest The Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength matures for 8-10 years in a combination of ex-sherry and ex-bourbon barrels.

Bold, smooth and spicy, the 105 packs an absolutely delicious punch (and I do mean punch), but cushions the blow with its sweet, creamy and nuttier flavours making it a truly unique whisky. Don’t believe me? Order a bottle for yourself and you’ll get what I mean.

• Nose: Great depth, sherry, creamy, nutty, honey on toast, hints of freshly brewed coffee.
• Palate: Velvety, peppery, hints of oak, almond, praline, hazelnut, dried fruit peels.
• Finish: Long, peppery, nutty.
